- Investment Issues
Rathbones’ investment process is crucial to supporting investment decisions. The investment process seeks to draw together the combined expertise of Rathbones’ investment managers across both its discretionary fund management operations and its award-winning unit trust operation.
We believe that our conservative, yet imaginative, investment style is well suited to charity needs as it allows full participation by charity investment managers in our investment process. Therefore, not only are our charity investment managers involved in direct contact with trustees, they also have a key input into the investment process which, in turn, assists them in their decision-making process on behalf of individual charities.
We measure each charity’s performance against a benchmark agreed with the trustees. Whilst in some cases this is an independent industry recognised benchmark, such as those produced by the WM company, in other cases these benchmarks are not appropriate and as such, Rathbones constructs an individually tailored benchmark.
